Order L-28 by the War Production Board (WPB) forced all gold mines to cease operations on October of 1942. The WPB was later dissolved after the defeat of Japan in 1945, and replaced by the Civilian Production Administration in late 1945. Pictured is one of the last prospectors in the Tujunga area with his mules. The mule 2nd from right is called Beezlebub (Prince of devils). No further information has been provided. Photograph date stamped February 7, 1951.
