Original print has writing at upper left. Photograph article dated December 1, 1964 partially reads, "Ranching as most people think of it is no more. Gone are the old bunk houses, gone are the large ranch kitchens with their long oil-cloth covered tables and gone are the dust covered ranch hands who'd clump in for a hearty non meal cooked by the rancher's wife. Today the rancher's wife has been liberated from the sulky, black coal and wood stove. Mrs. Harland Brown, wife of ranch manager of the Thousand Oaks Glenmorr Cattle Company, uses the old refurbished stove in a corner of their modern sun-dipped hilltop home as a conversational piece." Photograph caption reads, "Gene Agdeppa sits atop a boulder looking down on a movie set being built by Columbia for 'King Rat' war story."; See images #00131903 through #00131905 for all photos in this series.
