Annotation translation: Caption on the rear of the photograph: "Hampatong. One of those wooden figures, against which in the early morning a buffalo is killed. (A hampatong is erected for every buffalo). The woven "feeder" under the chin of this man [i.e. of this figure] is a nice touch." Annotation: Bildlegende auf der Rückseite des Photos: "Hampatong. Eine dieser Holzfiguren, an der am frühen Morgen ein Büffel getötet wurde. (Für jeden Büffel richtet man einen extra Hampatong auf). Nett ist das geflochtene 'Lätzchen' unter dem Kinn dieses Mannes."
