Description
Scale model of the "City of San Jose" B-29 Superfortress bomber, previously owned by pilot Robert Locks, who flew the original airplane over Japan during World War II. On August 15, 1945, the bomber juoined more than 160 other bombers that dropped 20,000 pounds of napalm and TNT over cities north of Tokyo. The mission is detailed in a San Jose Mercury News article dated Sunday, July 28, 1985, with photographs of the original crew and Locks holding his B-29 model.
