Photograph caption dated May 25, 1956 reads, "Southwest of Chatsworth, quiet, silver waters of Chatsworth Lake dissect green hills and reflect centuries-old Oak trees dotting beautiful countryside. Site once had adobe settlement of early Spaniards but years have gradually crumbled it out of existence. Old sulphur springs still flow in area.
