Photograph caption dated May 13, 1949 reads, "Los Angeles police shown testing 29 new motorcycles, seven of which will be added to the Valley division, bringing the corps' strength to 49. The tests, made under the supervision of Sgt. C. A. Sitts of the central office, were held in the Valley." This is outside Engine Company No. 39, 14415 Sylvan Street in Van Nuys.
