2 images. Boy with enlarged heart, 5 December 1951. Terry McGinnis -- 2 years (victim) Mrs. James McGinnis (mother) Boy is doomed with enlarged heart and circulation block. Supplementary material reads: "Driscoll -- Gershon. Sick boy. Illus. Terry McGinnis, almost two years old, has his very own electric train, just like the ones he saw in the stores. He can play with, too, but any minute his white little face may grow paler and he faints. Terry is a very sick little boy, He has enlarged heart and a circulation block that doctors have told his parents, Mr. and Mrs. James McGinnis of 734 West Sixth Street, San Pedro, may let him live a little longer or, at any time, may bring the end. So, because Christmas is coming and December 18 is Terry's birthday, he is celebrating both of them ahead of time. There is another reason. Next week the doctors at Children's Hospital are to decide whether an operation can help Terry or whether it would be useless. Because of all this and because Terry has wanted an electric train ever since he was big enough to know what they were, Christmas and a birthday came early".
