Description
Full title:McHenry, Illinois, besides being in the heart of the northern Illinois farm region, is also a resort town and offers many recreational facilities. Here is a view of the Des Plaines River at McHenry where boats are offered for hire for fishing and for rowing during the summer months. Mr. Okazaki likes to fish and has spent many pleasant hours on the waters of the river and the nearby lake. In the wintertime, Mr. Okazaki finds fishing though the ice on the lake a fascinating sport as well as a good way to get a nice batch of fresh pan fish. The Okazakis have lived in Illinois for more than six months, having relocated from the Rohwer Relocation Center to McHenry, Illinois, where they help manage the A. J. Krecker farm. Photographer: Mace, Charles E. McHenry, Illinois.
