Description
Accession number: P7228 Municipal Light and Water Works plant in Anaheim, established 1895, relocated from 119 West Cypress Street to this site at 518 South Los Angeles Street (later Anaheim Blvd.) in 1907; image shows exterior of the light plant building with a sign on the front facade reading "ANAHEIM MUNICIPAL / LIGHT / WATER POWER," constructed by C. Schindler & Son, which housed the expanded light plant from 1908 to 1916, at which time the boilers and machines were removed and the city began utilizing power furnished by So. California Edison; also visible at far left is the water tank, which was 100 feet high and held 173,000 gallons of water, and was demolished in 1953.
