Description
This photograph is a vista of the community of Turlock, circa 1907. Note the number of windmills which were needed by the individual homes and businesses to pump drinking water from their wells. A city water system was initiated in 1909. Horses continued to be the primary source of transportation, therefore many home owners also had barns on their property like the one visible to the left.
