Anaheim Landing, located at the NE corner of Seal Beach Blvd. and Electric Ave, in what is now known as Seal Beach (incorporated 1915); in 1857, the Anaheim Lighter Company (Frederick Schneider, president) established Anaheim Landing as a port for the Santa Ana Valley; despite treacherous entrance conditions that caused several disasters, regular coastwise trade was carried on here for about 15 years; it subsequently became a resort center; image shows view of landing looking inland, with a large warehouse and pier at cent, smaller buildings in background, and many figures at the shoreline or wading in foreground.
