E. view of the Garcia-Tepanco adobe on the west side of Central Street in Capistrano Village. Large two story structure with a balcony. Windows and entrance are visible. This adobe was known as "La Casa de Tepanco" or "La Casa del Portugues" because it was built (after 1840) by Manuel Garcia who was a Portuguese. The upper story was a frame and the balcony was added in the 1880s by Don Domingo Oyharzabal.
