Description
This 10 page representative issue of the Minidoka Irrigator dated November 7, 1942, includes articles such as "Relocation Faces Barriers," "Post Halloween Pranks Reported," and "Irrigator Mascot Christened." Of special note is the Editorial entitled "More Socials Needed," which posits that it is important to bring together Nisei and Caucasians in order to encourage Americanization. It also includes a one-page section in Japanese. The Irrigator was published weekly at the Minidoka Relocation Center in Idaho and was "devoted to the interests of the residents of the Minidoka WRA center, published by the Minidoka Consumer's Cooperative." In addition to local and national news, it included a sports section, classified ads and a section in Japanese.
