Accession number: P5377 Reverse of carte printed with "V. WOLFENSTEIN, / PHOTOGRAPHER / Temple Block, / Los Angeles, Cal." Wedding portrait of Ferdinand Backs (brother of Joseph Backs) and his wife Louise Werder Backs, married January 25, 1875; Mr. Backs operated a furniture and Undertaker business, established in 1872; image shows full views of the sitters, Ferdinand with moustache, wearing a dark jacket, dark vest with watch chain visible, white shirt and dark bow tie, standing with his right hand tucked in his vest and his left hand resting on the back of his wife's chair; Louise is on Ferdinand's left, sitting in a chair draped with a fur piece, wearing a dark dress with ruffled hem.
