Accession number: P6084 Double portrait of Judge James Soloman Howard and his second wife (m. 1897), Minnie Schaefer; Judge Howard was one of Anaheim's earliest photographers, establishing his studio at 152 South Los Angeles Street (now Anaheim Blvd.) in 1896; appointed as City Recorder in 1902 and elected as Anaheim's Justice of the Peace in 1903, continuing in both offices until 1922; Minnie Schaefer was the daughter of Carl and Adele Schaefer, early residents of Anaheim; image shows half-length frontal view, Judge Howard on the left with a moustache, dressed in a dark suit; his wife Minnie standing on the right in a dark dress with white high-neck collar, broach and long necklace.
