Description
A fire district was organized in 1907 and in 1912 the first volunteer fire department was established. Turlock's first fire engine was the La France purchased in 1922 and parked on the left of this row of vehicles. The dog is presumably the department 'fire dog' while the man wearing the straw hat is thought to be Charles V. Lundahl, Turlock's Fire Chief from 1925 to 1941.
