Description
On November 6, 1913, The Los Angeles County Museum of History, Art, and Science opened its doors in Exposition Park. This museum was the first of its kind in Southern California. It was proposed as a place where The Southern chapter of the Cooper Ornithological Club the Southern California Historical Society, the Southern California Academy of Sciences, and The Fine Arts League of Los Angeles would come together to give the people of Southern California and its visitors a rich perspective on the American West. Museum Bulletins were initially published and sent out semi-regularly as a way to connect museum members with the goings-on at the museum both on the public floor and behind the scenes. As the museum matured, the member publications grew to be magazine-like time capsules showcasing science, art, and history through the unique lens of our Southern California museum. This publication contains a look into the culture of Los Angeles in the time period it was created and served as the mouthpiece to the museum
