Part of MCFL World War I Collection. Typed letter, signed. Addressed to 'Dear Friend George.' Grant is writing to thank George as one of the people who wrote a letter of recommendation for him. He is glad to enter the Marine Corps and writes about his impressions and experiences at the camp at Mare Island. He describes the good climatic conditions, equipment, facilities, amusements, library, auditorium, barracks, and the hospitality of the people in the surrounding towns.
