Description
Waldo Salt was a victim of the Hollywood Blacklist during the 1950s, which adversely affected many people in Hollywood, and screenwriters in particular. In these papers, Alfred Lewis Levitt, another blacklisted writer, reminisces about Salt during that difficult time time, written for a memorial service upon Salt's death in 1987. The final remarks were prepared as an obituary for the magazine of the Writers Guild of America, the labor union representing screenwriters.
