Description
This fluorescent micrograph shows stem cells labeled with green fluorescent protein (GFP) located at the base of the colonic crypt in a section of mouse colon. The stem cells are surrounded by numerous goblet cells that secrete mucous (stained in red). Other cells of the colon are observed using DAPI staining, which highlights the cell nucleus in blue.
