Description
The letter, addressed to an unnamed correspondent, is written on two sheets of Esmond Hotel pictorial letterhead. The writer mentions that he arrived in Portland the evening before, having left San Francisco on Thursday the 6th, where he "left Mrs. Tucker holding a fair in Platts Hall, for the benefit of -- I don't know what, colored people's reform association, or some similar outfit."
