Description
Detail of cytopharyngeal basket from Nassula aurea. Microtubules make up the rods, rod lamellae and sheath. TEM taken on 3/2/71 by R. Allen with Hitachi HU11A operating at 75kV. Neg. 19,500X. Bar = 0.5µm. A print of the negative was scanned and processed in Photoshop. This image is best used for qualitative analysis. A high resolution image (CIL:7667) is available for quantitative analysis. Standard glutaraldehyde fixation followed by osmium tetroxide, dehydrated in alcohol and embedded in an epoxy resin.
