Description: Quick-freeze deep-etch image of a crystal. The contents of the crystal have condensed into paracrystalline planes that break into angular chunks when fractured. A portion of the P-fracture face of the membrane has many pits where IMPs have been removed. This resembles the P-face of the phagolysosome membrane or stage III of digestive vacuoles. TEM taken on 4/6/88 by C. Schroeder with Zeiss 10A operating at 80kV. Neg. 12,000X. Bar = 0.5µm.
