Description
Scanning electron microscope image of cross-section through Helianthus annuus (sunflower) stem. The image shows the outer epidermal layer, followed by the cortex and then large vascular bundles. The vascular bundles have vascular cambium between the phloem (nearest the cortex) and xylem.This image is part of a group on botanical stems (CIL:40378-40395).
