Description
Tangential fractures through mature trichocysts. The planes in the paracrystalline stacks are exposed. The body is laced to the membrane but such associations must be severed when the trichocyst is discharged as the membrane remains in the cell and is not extruded. Pits are present on the E-face of the membrane. TEM taken on 6/27/88 by C. Schroeder with Zeiss 10A operating at 80kV. Neg. 15,900X. Bar = 0.5µm.
