Description
An oocyte in a mature follicle. During the menstral cycle in females the ovary produces oocytes, which develop in follicles. As the follicle matures it increases in size, different cell types are recruited to the developing follicle to support the ooctye prior to ovulation. This follicle would also be called an antral follicle due to the large cavity (antral space).
