Approximately 8 patrol reports, with related correspondence. PATROL OFFICERS: Barber, P. J.; Hunter, R. C.; Kennedy, D. C.; Setchell, G. A.; Mora, S. I.; Goldthorp, D. M. AREAS PATROLLED: Wiru, Pangia, Kagua. This volume contains 8 patrol reports, with patrols conducted throughout the Pangia sub-district in the Southern Highlands in 1970 - 1971. Topics covered on these patrols revolved around tax collection, general elections, heavy emphasis on political education and the empowerment of women, and the construction of the Tealands road with work being done on Wiru Loop in particular. The economic growth in this district was highlighted throughout this volume, with the growth increasing rapidly. Also included information on the cattle project, subsistence farming and village gardens, coffee, tax collection and infrastructure such as the Apenda school site and the Karanas pit road development. Students were assigned one volume to analyze at the report level summarizing their findings, identifying key terms, and writing aboutness statements.
