Figure 411 from Chapter 16 (Cytoplasmic matrix and cytoskeleton) of 'The Cell, 2nd Ed.' by Don W. Fawcett M.D. Microtubules associated with the midbody in telophase of mammalian cell division. This shaft of microtubules is enclosed at midregion by the plasma membrane and connects daughter cells well into interphase. Image by David Phillips.
