Description
The movie illustrates two approaches to understanding the 3D structure of complex objects, using the pluteus stage embryo of the sea urchin Arbacia punctulata. The first sequence is a through-focus DIC series presented as a 'walk through' in the z dimension. The second uses projections at different angles through a z-stack, with the results presented as a 'rocking' series in which the 3D structure becomes more readily apparent.
