Description: Immunogold label specific for L1 antigen on DV-II. Monoclonal antibody to antigen L1 specifically labels DV-II and acidosomes but not lysosomes. Lysosomes are osmotically active so they tend to shrink when the cell is exposed to hyperosmotic fixative as occurred here. This vacuole was 5-8 min. old and contained 0.8µm latex beads. TEM taken on 3/26/92 by R. Allen with Zeiss 10A operating at 80kV. Neg. 19,800X. Bar = 0.2µm.
