Working half of a core taken at Site 406 on Leg 48 of the Deep Sea Drilling Project. Members of the scientific staff aboard D/V Glomar Challenger (ship) took all their samples from this half of the core. The archive half of the core and what was left of the working half went to the repository at Columbia University's Lamont-Doherty Geological Observatory, Palisades, N.Y. 1976
