Description
Studio portrait of Charles "Charlie" Nelson Gibson.
Charlie Nelson Gibson was born in Sacramento. His family moved to Oakland in the late 19th century. He was a redcap for the Southern Pacific Railroad from 1913-1954. He and his wife, Maude, had three daughters, Thelma, Lois, and Audrey. Gibson was a member of the First African Methodist Episcopal Church of Oakland, the Retired Railroad Men's Club, and several masonic lodges.
