Description
Gold Shield members pose in front of the University Residence. From L to R: Carroll Johnson, Louise E. Brown Hoover (UCLA 1930), Dorothy Sheard Allen, and [Ella Mae Manwarring]. Formed in 1936, the Gold Shield is a women's alumni group that hosts UCLA events, sponsors lectures, and raises scholarship funds. Louise Hoover, the photographer's wife, was an active member of Gold Shield for 33 years.
