Declared Historic-Cultural Monument #183 by the City of Los Angeles in 1978; it was destroyed by fire in 1989. ANSWER: Yep, it's the entrance to the Pan-Pacific Auditorium out on Beverly Blvd., near Fairfax Ave., scene of numerous ice shows, basketball games and just about every other kind of exhibit. KNOW YOUR CITY, NO.90 -- From skates to baskets, this place has been on the pan for years. It also has had boats, homes, automobiles, etc. Thousands upon thousands of people have been here.
