Louise Brooks (seated), in charge of the kitchens at clubs such as the Dunbar Grill and the F-Fortune Club, with Herman Hill (left) and Abie Robinson (right). Herman Hill was a publicist and also the first African American to play varsity basketball at USC. Edward Joseph "Abie" Robinson was the Los Angeles Sentinel sports editor.
