View of the coastline and the Pacific Coast Highway in Topanga west towards the coast. Castle Rock is visible near the water at center, jutting out into the water above a sandy beach. The coastal road winds its way along the shore, and several other narrow roads make their way up the hillside in the foreground. There are a few large houses, including the Villa de Leon, on the hillside at right overlooking the water below, and in the background at center, a row of beach houses lines the coast. Castle rock was leveled in the mid 1950's and is now paved over.
