Text from newspaper caption: Fire Fighters Conquer Blaze Near Glendale; Fanned by a brisk breeze, flames swept over a stretch of the San Rafael ills on the northern boundary of Glendale yesterday. The photograph above shows clouds of smoke and flames sweeping eastward over the hills near the junction of Verdugo Road and Glendale avenue. The lower photograph shoes a group of fire fighters battling the blaze. Amid charred trees and brush on seared ground strewn with hot coals and ashes scores of men fought and extinguished the fire.
