Hess points a finger into Mendoza's face as she rests her elbow against a table and an unidentified person is partially photographed in the background.
Helen Mendoza's testimony is used to corroborate in favor with her friend William E. Tanner, accused of kidnapping and torturing attorney Henry Bodkin, of which he is sentenced to hang for. Mendoza appeals to Dep. Dist.-Atty. Stahlman with Tanner's lawyer, Hess.
