Related to "Facts Used in Rum War: Doctor Opens Lectures on Alcohol in Church Fight Against Liquor," Los Angeles Times, 09 Oct 1935: A3. Dr. Emil Bogen sits behind a table, which has various chemistry lab equipment on it, including test tubes in a rack, pipettes, volumetric flasks, and stoppers. He holds what may be a beaker in his right hand and a type of lamp(?) in his left. Dr. Emil Bogen was chosen to head the temperance aid school. He was a medical researcher at the Olive View Sanatorium in Sylmar. In his first lecture, held October 8, 1935, he talked about the physical properties of alcohol.
