A ground-level view of one of the storefronts of the old Norton Building on Sixth Street and Broadway, in the aftermath of a fire. The ground-level windows are blown out, though the dressed mannequins remain mostly intact. The end of a fire engine can be seen to the left of the image. Fire hoses and burnt, broken debris strewn the street. A blurry image of a fire fighter can be seen in the background. An acetylene tank had exploded on a scaffolding outside the Norton Building. It was being used for exterior remodeling the structure was undergoing. The building caught fire and fire crews were brought in to contain the damage.
