Jolin and another man carry a box of telephones out of the apartment, stepping amongst broken chairs while two other men, presumably also detectives, watch in the background. When the police, lead by Captain E. E. Norgaard and composed of Lieutenants Jolin, Arthur Bergeron, Ted Morton, Daniel Driscoll, W. C. Burris and B. G. Anderson broke into the apartment at 113-115 S. Edgemont St. on a tip they found electric adding machines, canceled checks signed by Herman Byrens, a sound-proof basement room, and 22 telephones - but no persons on the premises.
