Photograph of three forged checks. Two have "California State Prison at San Quentin" printed across the top and the forged signature of James B. Holohan, the warden at San Quentin. The third check has "Office of State Treasurer State of Ohio" printed across the top and is forged with the name of G. T. Roberts.
Related to article, "Fake Prison Checks Gain: Two ex-Convicts Hunted for Questioning in Forgeries Using Warden's Name," Los Angeles Times, 24 Nov. 1935: 10. The article reports that two ex-convicts are being sought for questioning: William Francis Ryan and Albert Diamond.
