Related to Los Angeles Times article, "Hickman a 'Mild Boy': Neighbors in Alhambra Recall Slayer Suspect as 'Gentleman' and 'Bug on Motorcycles'," 21 Dec. 1927: 2. Alhambra home located at 2521 Birch Street. The home shares the same lot as the walk-up apartment William Edward Hickman shared with his mother Eva and sister Mary before the family moved back to Kansas City, Missouri. Hickman returned to California several months before murdering pharmacist C. Ivy Toms during the commission of a robbery, and the kidnap and murder of 12-year-old Marion Parker. Hickman received a life sentence for Toms' murder, and a death sentence for Parker's murder. He was executed at San Quentin, October 19, 1928.
