The four sit with their legs crossed in seats against the wall. Jack Thomas smiles into the camera, Robert McCracken obscures his face with his arm, Louise Thomas covers her mouth with a white cloth with one hand and holds a cigarette with the other, and Officer Mott smiles as he smokes a cigar. Dr. Hugo Foss has been accused of issuing more than 850 illegal prescriptions within a period of six months. Addicts who had taken advantage of Dr. Foss' prescriptions gathered in the courtroom to provide their testimonies. Text from newspaper caption: Witnesses for the State, Jack Thomas, Robert McCracken and Louise Jones, were present at yesterday's session of the trial of Dr. Hugo W. Foss on a charge of prescribing narcotics illegally. Thomas is at the left and McCracken is between him and Miss Jones. Police Officer Arthur Mott is at the right.
