Misses Anna Butts and Norma Crowell superintended decorations elaborated with balloons, at Ebell Club for the first annual New Year's Eve celebration of the newly organized Los Angeles Post of the national organization of Allied Youth. More than 300 young people enjoyed the affair which banned alcoholic liquors. Following a turkey banquet, floor shows, entertainment and dancing were enjoyed. Similar photograph appears with the headline, "Spirit of Blithe Holiday Season Pervades Entertainments," Los Angeles Times, 05 Jan 1936: C10. Anna stands on a ladder holding a cluster of balloons while adjusting some of the streamers and balloons hanging from the ceiling. Norma stands next to her with more balloons and streamers to decorate with.
