Access to this collection is generously supported by Arcadia funds. Mertie West was H. H. West's wife. Agnes Whitaker was Mertie's sister in law. The little girl is probalby Shirleyana Shaw, daughter of Romayne Shaw (based on her size; and not the Shaws other daughter Eleanor). Romayne Shaw was Mertie and Agnes' nephew. Shirleyana Shaw (probably), H. H. West, Jr., Mertie West and Agnes Whitaker seated on rocks beside Tuolumne River in Tuolumne Meadows. A man is at work in their camp with 3 visible tents above the river bank behind them. Text from negative sleeve: 118. Touloumne Meadows, Yosemite, 1929. Our camp at the lower end of the meadow on the creek.
