Steamboat on the Mississippi River. Men stand on the shore and walk on planks of wood that are piled up by the boat. There is a carriage at the left. Steam billows out of the boat. A sign on the side reads, in part, "...Quincy & Keokuk... Line... Saint Paul."
Text from negative sleeve: 253. Burlington, Iowa, September 1900. Steamboat at the levee on Mississippi. Another view of several steamboats, with Mrs George M. West looking at them. Fred Lemberger, right, and an officer friend who happened to be down at the landing. 2 poor negatives, cannot identify person. [Handwritten:] Indoor exposures - Lemberger home. 5 negatives.
