H. H. West's mother, Wilhelmina West, looks at steamboats on the Mississippi River. The steamboats are lined up by the shore. There are horses and carriages with men walking by. There is another woman standing at the right of the photograph wearing a hat and a man sitting on a porch behind her.
Text from negative sleeve: 253. Burlington, Iowa, September 1900. Steamboat at the levee on Mississippi. Another view of several steamboats, with Mrs George M. West looking at them. Fred Lemberger, right, and an officer friend who happened to be down at the landing. 2 poor negatives, cannot identify person. [Handwritten:] Indoor exposures - Lemberger home. 5 negatives.
