Photograph of "Red" standing and posing in front of a couple buildings on the grounds of the Independent Order of Foresters Sanatorium in Lopez Canyon. He stands at center on a dirt driveway and smiles to the camera. Immediately behind him, a landscaped lawn stretches across the image. Further back, 2 small dwellings stand at left and at center.
Text from negative sleeve: 647. Lopez Canyon, I. O. F. Sanitarium. Xxxxx September 26, 1937. The Foresters hold a picnic and we go. "Red" - the boy who used to wait on me and bring my meals when I was there in the spring of 1936. Frank Hand at the right. Don't know the others. Two pictures on one film, but Dr. Dickson can plainly be seen. Doc operated on my neck under the left ear for a fibroid tumor. I was in the Sanitarium in 1936 for 3 months. Got a good rest. 3 negatives
