Description
Access to this collection is generously supported by Arcadia funds. A lopsided photograph of H. H. West standing against a car during a hunting trip to Russell Ranch. H. H. West is at center and looks to the camera. He leans upon a box that sits on the car's running board and props his right foot onto the running board. He rests his hand to his knee. The car is viewed from the side and faces left. The grille extends out-of-frame. It appears to slope downwards to the left, but the whole image is lopsided toward that direction. In the car, behind H. H., someone sits in the front passenger seat. Their face is obscured; it appears to be faded and/or scratched. A field peppered with trees surrounds them. Text from negative sleeve: 837. Russell's Ranch. About 1915. Roy Bagley, a friend of Glen Velzy, had a cabin back of the Russell Ranch. We went in for a deer hunt. Bagley's cabin, with Roy in front.
